There are three common locations for inserting a breast implant: through the armpit, under the areolar, or under the breast. Each incision has different benefits depending on your anatomy. Once inserted, the implants can be positioned either:
- Above chest muscles – a shorter, less painful method, and may be beneficial for patients who have sagging or ptotic breasts
- Below chest muscles – allows for a smooth transition from the chest wall to the breast, avoiding palpation of the implant.
